Listen to the talking page - about jeans

There are three basic parts Jeans styles:

Where the Jeans rest on a person's waste is called the rise, you will have heard of high rise, low rise and regular Jeans style. This is a way of expressing whether the Jeans sit above the waist (High Rise) on the waste (Regular Rise) or bellow the waste (Low Rise)

The thigh of the Jeans has also three different styles

  • The standard full thigh is wide.
  • Then we have a fitted thigh which is the tightest.
  • Then we have the loose relaxed thigh.

The last of the three parts to the Jeans styles is the opening of the leg.

If the leg is narrowing it is called a tapered opening. Straight means that the Jeans are the same width all the way down from the thigh to the bottom opening. A boot-fit has a bottom opening that is slightly wider than the thigh. Then we have the flare which has a much wider opening at the bottom.

Designers will interchange these jeans stiles to make custom look. There are a few more touches to the Jeans styles that refer the actual way the Jeans will be used. Carpenter is a term for a loose fitting jean style with two side pockets a hammer loop on one side.

The trend just now is not to describe the Jeans style in their title but the information will be listed somewhere. Different cuts put emphasis on different types of bodies and tastes. For example a low-rise boot-fit sometimes means a low waist, fitted thigh and a boot-fit opening. As a party plan agent you will learn this.
